Freight & Shipping
Shipping hardware products is harder than shipping t-shirts. These things are heavy, awkward, sometimes hazardous (hello, lithium batteries), and customers still expect them to show up in one piece.
Bloom manages freight across four channels:
- Parcel — standard carrier shipping for parts, accessories, and lighter items - LTL (Less Than Truckload) — individual units or small batches - FTL (Full Truckload) — dedicated loads for big orders - Specialized freight — white glove, crated, palletized, and roll-on/roll-off for oversized vehicles and equipment
Routing is automatic and rule-based. Shipments get classified by weight, dimensions, and product flags. If it's over 150 lbs or 108 inches in length, it bumps from parcel to LTL automatically. Products flagged as fragile, oversized, or hazmat route to specialized carriers. No manual guesswork, no billing disputes from wrong shipping classes.
On pricing: for small-format vehicles in loads of 5+, we've been hitting approximately $600/unit through volume consolidation and carrier optimization. Your numbers will vary depending on product and lanes.
Our logistics partner runs a curated carrier network classified by insurance levels, equipment type (floor tie-down capability matters for vehicles), and performance history.
