Final Mile Delivery
Final mile is the last leg. Product goes from a regional hub or carrier terminal to the customer's door. It's usually the most expensive per-mile segment and where the most things go wrong.
Four service levels:
Curbside — dropped at the curb or driveway. Standard for most freight. Customer handles it from there.
Threshold — brought inside the first door or into the garage. For heavier stuff the customer can't physically move.
White glove — full setup, assembly, packaging removal, and a product walkthrough at the customer's location. Premium service for high-value products.
Room of choice — placed in the specific spot the customer wants.
Each level is priced separately. Curbside is included in most standard freight rates. White glove can add $200-500+ depending on the product and location.
Coverage is handled through a mix of national carriers with local delivery arms and regional last-mile specialists. Not every service level is available in every metro. We'll tell you upfront what's possible for your product and geography.
One thing specific to electric mobility: roll-on/roll-off delivery (sometimes called naked delivery or no-box). The vehicle ships fully assembled with no packaging. Driver rolls it off the truck. Lower shipping cost, lower waste, but requires carriers with the right equipment and insurance.
